Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale was an American pro basketball player with the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. She played for Notre Dame Fighting Irish in college, before she was selected as the 5th overall pick by the Wings during the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale, was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin on March 2 1997. She is the daughter of Yolanda Ogunbowale as well as Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26 years) as well as Dare Ogunbowale (19 years) are her older brothers. Her parents spoilt her the most since she was the most young. Her father Gregory was as a soldier in the Nigerian Army for quite some time. Ogunbowale is from a family that has ties to the sporting world. Her mother Yolanda played softball at DePaul as did her brother Dare. Dare has a career in football. Her cousin Endia Olive plays volleyball and volleyball at Tennessee State. Ogunbowale is in the honor roll at school for the past three years. Alongside her fame, she's won numerous honors from her education. Arike was a graduate of Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in her home town. She also played three varsity seasons at school. Ogunbowale has led her team through numerous games with her impressive abilities. In her senior year she's scored 1,477 points, with 739 rebound. Ogunbowale has won Gold Medals at the 2013 U16 Championships of FIBA Americas as well as the 2014 FIBA U17 world Championships and 2013 3x3 Championships of FIBA. The 7th of July 2014 was the day she was selected for the 2014 USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale was also named on the ACC All-Freshman Team after her first year of collegiate play. Kobe Bryant congratulated her after taking several shots of a high quality at the NCCA Tournament. Though she's still only a freshman Ogunbowale has already made herself a top basketball player and is certain to continue on her path. Arike Ogunbowale's worth amounts to roughly $5 million, according to a source. While she is a professional basketball player, Ogunbowale excels in other pursuits as well. She also plays soccer and even has won State Cups for the Lake County United Soccer Club. She also plays the piano for more than seven years.
